Superb 2nd half, and thankfully we did keep the tempo up and Fleming was denied a goal by the Watford keeper in the 50th minute! Sav had a couple of chances, but the best one fell to Voglsammer when he delightfully chipped their keeper, only to see it hit the crossbar!
Throughout the majority of the 2nd half, the Watford players just looked so disinterested, allowing our midfield to just stroll about and control the game! They never looked like equalising, and the game was put to bed in the 83rd minute! Wallace on the left did well, only to be fouled to the left of the penalty box. Fleming whipped the FK in, and all the way through a sea of players, the ball evaded the Watford keeper and nestled into the far corner of the goal!
In the 80th minute, Honeyman came on for Voglsammer and Watford brought on a couple of subs who made no difference! In the 89th minute, Esse came on for Saville, and in injury time, a mix up in the Watford defence nearly allowed Bradshaw to poke the ball over the goal line, but it wasn’t to be!
All of the players played well in the 2nd half, but overall I’d give MOM to Danny, who was everywhere today! Some great defending and some good crosses epitomised just how much of a work rate he offers the team! Billy had an exceptional game as well. Him and Sav bossed the midfield and limited the Watford players from getting the ball forward to their forwards!
That win puts us in 6th spot, on 35 points, 1 point behind QPR who are away at Cardiff, so hopefully the sheepshaggers can do us a favour and beat them today! Preston could also go above us, if they beat Huddersfield today, so let’s hope a draw or a surprising away win will keep them out of the play offs!
Can’t wait for Thursday, and another home win against The Robins, to hopefully consolidate our PO position before the January transfer window opens!
