I bet if Rowett is asked, this is exactly the type of performance he wants from his teams. Not necessarily dominating in terms of possession, but first to the ball, hard to beat, threatening from set-pieces, street-wise and an absolute pain to play against.

Rowett brought on Shackleton to virtually man-mark Asprilla in midfield because he was dominating for a little spell. Flemming moved out to the left.

Asprilla has become frustrated as a result and any upper hand they looked to have gained has been snuffed out. Firstly by the tactical change and secondly by the Flemming goal.

Very astute bit of management by Rowett.
