Fed up of rumours Edwards according to the bookies has the job , now on twitter I read Barrett is going to stay in charge till Jan because in millwalls view the candidates haven't impressed enough if that is the case then maybe rowett if anything never got the credit he deserved

Barratt is 18/1 and if he is in charge for 10 games then he is deemed to be the permanent manager for betting purposes.

It might work, it might not. But, so happy we didn't go down the route of the same old faces on the merry go round, Warnock, Pearson, Dean Smith, Jones, Parker etc.

His first job wasn't going to be a Premiership club or a Championship club that needs to be promoted and possibly his style of football wouldn't work in the lower leagues so perhaps it didn't leave too many options and his England job only had 2 more games left to play later this month.

As others have said it's a gamble, but no more than appointing Jones or Beale or even Muscat. The safest option was probably Eustace but he wanted to stay in Birmingham.

Edwards deserves a bit of credit for stepping up and willing to put his neck on the block. Shows he has a bit about him.
