Quotes from the Charlton no life forum

Bit by bit the dream of European football is slipping away gently. Realistically it takes time for a new boss to stamp his identity on the club, unveil new training methods and develop his own style of play. It is never easy but the joke is that some on their forum cannot understand that these things take time. They want instant success and it is just not possible.
There are three possible scenarios.
1 He gets them to gel together, hit some decent form and start to climb the table.
2 He gets completely disillusioned with the whole club set up and either quits soon or plods on and Danish Dave gives him the tin tack.
3 DD says this is a complete load of tosh and one of the biggest business mistakes I have ever made and gives up and sells the club.

If either 2 or 3 happen then we shall be laughing our heads off! It couldn't happen to a nicer club lol.

Not sure how he could sell. He doesn’t really own anything. Just the brand Charlton Athletic and a few third rate bang average L2 players. The clubs haemorrhaging money every year, building up debt, the fan base is drifting away in numbers, and the Belgium fella still owns the ground and the training ground.
He might want to cut his loses and sell for a quid, hoping someone would be willing to take on the club with the debt, but not sure anyone would, without the ground and training ground in with the deal. Danish Dave is wealthy compared to most of us but on football owners terms he’s a minnow. Not sure how long he can keep funding this vanity project. Not for long it would seem when you see how he’s making so many cuts to the back room staff, the people who basically do the day to day running of the club. The shares in his company are bombing as well so he’s probably worth half what he was when he first took them over.

They’re basically fucked….

Like going from Stephenson's Rocket to the TGV in a weekend. It is not going to happen. Ah hahahaha.

What have they got to protest against?
The Danish Brent took over from owners that were using the club to fund their own personal life and had no money to put into the club, he has been putting money in but as his business is not doing well, he isn't putting in enough to make them any good.
It's not as though he is making a profit every month and taking it for himself.
How can you protest over a situation where you complain that the owner isn't losing millions more?

From what I can make out, it looks like the official club shop has gone...
You can't buy Spotters branded train sets; tat & clobber there, just overpriced 'Castore' nonsense.

:grinning:

Yeah, it’s not like they’re still turning up in numbers putting their money in.

They have started turning on their own supporters and bully boys:

"Those of us who refused to throw plastic pigs on the pitch and delpored going mob-handed to Belgium to harass Duchatalet were called "quislings" by Ben Hayes - and worse by lardiman and his 606 camp followers like elfsborg, or whatever he calls himself.

Thanks CARD, CAST, B20, VOTV and the rest. You played a significant part in reducing us to where we are now. Some, like WorkingLikeAnts and even the Bartram guy on CL have been honest enough to say they got it wrong. Yet many of the most vociferous players in the whole sorry CARD catastrophe cannot bring themselves to admit that "anyone but Roland" was utter bollocks . They got what they wished for - and we are all now paying for their misjudgement".
