Could we be flirting with relegation this season.

We’ve got so many midfield players; Saville, Mitchell, Campbell, DeNorre, (Honeyman), who are all exactly the same. No goals and little attacking intent. Never any attacking flair players.
Sadly attacking flair players are the ones that you have to pay 10 million just to take a punt on

Not that we could afford their wages, but Spurs got Solomon on a free and Forest got Hudson-Odoi for £3m. I think it was Brighton who had specific sponsors to cover a players wages.

On that note, anyone know if Huski had weighed in yet?

We have two strikers that will score goals if given the service and therein lies the problem, we do not move the ball quickly enough to supply the strikers who both work their nuts off getting into good positions.

What we need is an attacking COACH all the coaches at the club are defensive.
100%
We have been saying it for years now, but GR ain't budging on the attacking coach!!!! Baffling!!

It's a gamble either way. Carry on like he has this season and we lose value.

IF we had got circa £10m for a player we paid what £1.7m for in one season, as long as we invested those funds into 2, 3 or 4 more players with potential, then fuck those that call it out as lack of ambition
So who would you have bought for c.£8M Bex?

We are poorly coached when in possession of the ball, of that there is no doubt. The little movement there is, is slow and predictable and as such we seldom pull the opposition out of shape. Emakhu should be starting games by now, even if he can only give us an hour at this stage.
Build play on the right and then switch play to isolate him against a full back, should be play number one.

Obviously I am not a full time scout, but just looking at players that have changed clubs who I have seen a few times and gone to clubs roughly in line with us, think perhaps Ryan Manning went Southampton, so probably wages may have been tough, not suggesting for a moment we sign them all either, and apart from a target man, and centre backs we have done business in most of the areas listed here. A llot of the fees are undisclosed, which dont help in knowing how far you'd get with £8meither haha

Keepers - Harry Isted was on loan at Luton, gone to Charlton

Centre backs - Dickie, Panzo & Pembelee

Full backs - Tchamadeu, Ethan Laird & Ryan Manning

Wingers - Karamako Dembele, Appiah, Josh Bowler

Forwards - Joshh Maja & the Belgian who went Aberdeen , target man type we were allegedly linked to in Jan (not seen him play)

Siriki Dembele, Will Keane, Ellis Simms (bit not if it was £8m)

Sounds like we are in a right state reading through this thread, when in fact we only need someone over 6 foot that can challenge and win the high ball up front, both Nis and Bradshaw are very similar in their style. Like to see them both on the pitch with the likes of Moore. Try and keep in the hunt until January.

Cheers mate. 👍

Lets not forget the Ref literally bent us over on Sunday.

He took the actual piss with some of the decisions he made. Not saying that's the reason for us losing, but played a part for sure, esp for the first goal:mad:!

Genuinely one of the worst Refs we've had down the Den, and as we all know ... "We always get shit refs..."

Not too too concerned about the defence. More concerned about the attack seeing as it was a clear focus during the summer and naff all has improved.

No different to having Afobe & Smith up top at the moment.

Longman was good, not sure he is a wingback though. Would like to see him a Bryan down a flank together.

If he were to stick with 3 centre backs we would be in a relegation battle because the gaps between them are huge and they get exposed when we lose the ball and the wingbacks are caught upfield. In attack we have to wait for the wingbacks to get up the pitch and by then its usually too late and we cannot afford the type of players required to keep possession and unlock a stubborn defence. He’ll see sense eventually like he did last season and then we’ll be ok.
Teams target our back line with small nippy forwards & they cannot cope with them as they are too slow , need to try & be that least one mobile CB apart from Leonard who is realyl.playing out of position....got Harding but never Seems to get a start while Tugboat Wallace starts ?,

Totally agree.

I was very confused when GR played, De Norre, Campbell and Mitchell in the same team without Flemming and then to bring Saville on a bit later. 😓

All 3 are so similar in their own way. Flemming, Watmore, Emahku and Esse all flair type players, and none started the game. Gives me the impression of how he wanted the game to go...

Think GR wanted to nick a 1-0 home win. If we hadn't been fisted by the ref on the first goal, perhaps a 0-0 was on the cards.

We had all this same crap at the start of last season when we were 4th from bottom. Just like last season he’ll have to change to 4 at the back or he’ll get the sack…. The formation does not help us whatsoever with the players we have (and can afford). We just need to go 442 or 4411.

Buying a player to solve the obvious simply isn't the answer.
GR is a one man plan and when that fails his in game tactics are baffling at times.as are the subs (like for like or players played out of position.
A manager who doesn't know his best 11 is a man's that needs help (and it isn't AB imho) or putting out of his misery.

Why the fuck would he revert to a system he KNOWS we can't play!!! (5 at the back)

I'm beginning to think he is looking for a way out the club!!!

We tend to start the season slowly then go on a decent run. We've been down near the bottom at christmas before with Rowett and still finished strongly. I think Rowett is still trying to work out what his best eleven are and how to get the best out of them. We're argubably stronger than last season with a few good additions. Frustrating thing is having a defender as manager cause they tend to err on the side of caution which hampers us in attack. Our away form over the last ten games has been far better than our home form and that is encouraging but also a cause for concern as to why we are struggling at home.

We defo need to stay in this division😁E5F5D886-1E02-455C-954F-FB653FEB4103.jpeg

I wanted him to stay and play in the same formation and position and hopefully be worth more and sell him in January or next summer. Instead we went back to last seasons dog shit formation and stuck him out on the wing🤷🏻‍♂️. He has not been at the races this season, he’s not a midfielder he does not do the defensive work, he’s a striker playing a bit deeper. If we are not playing him directly behind the centre forward he is totally ineffective. In future if a big club comes knocking and the player wants to go then we should just flog them.

I’d have Esse starting as a Centre Attacking Midfielder instead of Fleming and Emakhu up front with Bradshaw or Rab C. Those two youngsters have been the main positives this season so far and deserve a chance to start.
