always rated Adkins did well at Scunthorpe and took Southampton up to Prem from Div 1 in 2 seasons and but for Poccetino being parachuted in he’d have kept em up.

The most likely scenario is that they will give Johnny Jackson four or five game to see if he can turn them around. If he gets a couple of wins, a couple of draws and only one defeat they will give him the job until the end of the season. If they end up in lower mid table he will have stabilised the club they will then make him permanent.
When he is appointed he will then say that European football and their rise up to the Premier League has been delayed by a couple of years. His first big task is to get them into the Championship and to beat us home and away for the first time in eons. Then he will wake up to see all those pink elephants in the sky!
