Team v Plymouth

After Saturday’s abject performance against Swansea GR will be looking for a reaction. We don’t have a squad in size to rival Chelsea so he will have little choice but to pick the few who tried hard plus kick a few rear ends and bend a few ears to get a performance out of the squad. A handful could hold their heads high and say that they never gave up for ninety minutes but there were some others who are just going to have the bite the bullet and confess that they dod not do their best. GR’s motivational skills will be put to the test to see if he can get them to play better.
He will not have to tell Bart that his error gifted them their second goal and the big Pole will have to swallow his pride and make sure that he does not make a similar error at Home Park. The first big debate comes in defence starting with the choice between Cuffy and Danny for the right back slot. If you are looking for a hard tackling and fully committed performance then Danny is your man. If you want a proper RWB who spends a lot of time on the half way line then Cuffy is your choice. For me, Danny has the edge. He will certainly go for three CB’s and two are nailed on. Apart from his reckless shirt pull which led to the penalty Cooper had a reasonable game. Leonard was solid and hard working so should keep his place. The issue is between Murray and Wes and surely Wes deserves a chance. It’s a tough call. Joe should start on the left.
Midfield was the battleground that we lost on Saturday and only Casper can hold his head up high. Campbell has been a disappointment and Flem has not been at the races for a while. If we play two holding midfielders then who partners Casper? The choice is Sav or Billy and I would go with Sav.
Emakhu deserves a start on the left and Honeyman should be chomping at the bit for a start on the right. Nisbet was a non performer on Saturday but we have little choice to start him as he is the only out and out number nine we have.

My thoughts are,

Bart
Danny Leonard Wes Cooper Joe
Casper Sav
Honeyman Rab Emakhu

Subs Trueman Cuffy Murray Campbell Billy Esse Watmore Flem Longman

The only reason GR survived last season is that he ditched the back 5, why the hell he has gone back to it only he can explain. Our midfield gets overun and our defence doesn't know where they should be:

Trueman
BNC, Wes, Cooper, Bryan
Leonard
Saville, De Norre
Flemming
Emakhu, Nisbet (or Longman and play 5 in midfield, I think Nisbet has been shit so far)

Love this line up and formation mate! 👍

cuffy is just awful to easy to disposes and makes no effort to get back
billy and savs back
Nisbet looked the part pre-season but cant hit a cow ass with a bajo now
how long before we give Emily a run of games ever time he comes on he looks a danger

I think GR is genuinely struggling to find his best 11.
With a combination of injuries, players woefully out of form, lack of confidence, and his own fucked up thinking regarding formations /tactics.
For fuck sake keep it simple.
Don't fucking sit deep or Plymouth will take the piss.
There will be a good few Wall making the trek, don't fucking let em down.

Flemming should definitely be dropped and Bart is sadly not good enough at this level anymore.

So we are left with Trueman and he must surely play, but that is going to be a big gamble. He has only played 14 games at this level in his entire career. The madness of not having a decent back-up keeper is piss poor by the manager and recruitment team.

Wes Harding must also play, because if he can't get into the team after Saturday, he might as well leave.

Saville is a leader and should never have been on the bench in the first place. Again, a baffling decision by the manager.

Not at all confident. They smashed Norwich at home and score for fun. We don't score and concede stupid goals right now.

Unfortunately I don't give our team whoever we play any chance at Plymouth. We have zero goals in us, forget about the Rotherham game that was a fluke. Midfield is so piss poor in main, defence is shocking, conference teams are better at the moment. Strikers, what Strikers, constantly fireing blanks. Fuck me they been a dose of the strongest viagra to get them arroused for the task in hand. Lose tomorrow and Saturday and us fans will turn on the management big time.

Wonder what we can read into this. Screenshot_20231002-213158.jpg
