Last game of the season pitch invasions would probably be the main reason for keeping it empty.
Not something I can understand but for years now it has happened.

I've been going since 1980, when I ten, there was always a pitch invasion at the last game of the season, but only by the fit fans who could camber over the fences (unless you were in the seats).

Uncle Reg will be smiling down on us to see the Den and it's environs rocking on a Saturday afternoon.

And he will still be telling porkies about the size of the crowd.

Recent experience suggests “when” not “in case”, sadly.

Messy for them? Our chaps won't be on the pitch. Instead we'll miss out on more revenue and our strings will go over and offer out 2,000 bods who'll be laughing at them from the upper tier.
