A decent first half but undone by two goals in 90 seconds from them.
We started well. Every body was on the front foot and closing down well. Some good movement from Esse and Oba and we definitely had them rattled. A good long throw from Tango nod on from Wes and Honeyman hit a close range shot which hit their keeper and bounced clear. Another good effort fromDanny to Oba, shot on the turn was saved. After a corner Coops was making his way back when a good ball found him, he nooded it on the Flem and the cut back cross was met by Esse in their box and he stroked it home for 1-0. It was no more than we deserved. A few minutes later Honeyman passed toDanny who pulled it back to Oba but his shot was saved. In the meanwhile Shark made a couple of decent saves. From one it bounced the post to Danny, off the post again and was cleared. We continued to press and a poor clearance from them fell to Joe but his shot was wide. And the half ended with our noses in front.
I was fairly sure that Oba would be replaced by Tom but we were unchanged after the break. It was no surprise that would come at us after the break and that was the case. We had to stay strong but they came at us and we were under pressure. They made two attacking subs after 55 and came at us even stronger. We threatened a little from a corner but Oba shot over. Now it was out turn for fresh legs. Tom and Watmore came on and Esse and Oba departed . Then came the turning point. A decent ball into our box was just in front of Tango. He stretched to claim it but just took their man out and the ref pointed to the spot. The strike was straight down the middle and Shark stood no chance and so it was 1-1. They had their tails up and an extra spring in their step and a break through the middle saw O’Hare run through, lay it off to their CF who hit a firm shot to Shark’s near post and it was 2-1. More fresh legs as Flem and Honeyman were replaced by Sav and Mayor but as hard as we tried we just couldn’t get an equaliser.
Shark made some excellent stops in the first half and was a little caught out for their winner. Danny was solid and Tango, Wes and Coops played well. Joe looked lively on the left. Esse had a decent game and took his goal well, Honeyman was busy and Flem hit a decent cross for the .Casper was also busy and Oba had a better, more involved game. Watmore had a couple of moments but not really a threat.Tom was similar, Mayor hardly broke sweat and Sav was his normal busy self.
We deserved a point but it was certainly a better performance than up at Hull. We move on the Tractor Boys at the Den on Wednesday.
