The change in the kind of people going football in the 70s/80s compared to nowadays is mental. Look at that picture, wall to wall geezers. Every one of them look like they could (and would) knock you into another dimension with one well aimed swipe of a glass pub ashtray. Tough times bred tough people back then.

I remember those times well, my older brother and his mates all looking like that.
I remember my first foray into a boozer with my brother. I was probably 13 ??? Into the pub on the old Kent road

Also, look at photos of other London fans at that time and they're often a bit flash. No airs and graces at wall. Geezers as you say.

great pic,we was feared everywhere we went,got me scars,nickings etc sad and happy times the 70s but wouldnt replace that era for the world

No mate. My best time too til I got involved at wall later on 94 onwards. I know I missed the best times there but still enjoyed a number of very fine occasions
