Wall V Southampton Match thread

Apart from the final score, I thought we played well today. First half obviously much better than the 2nd, and despite the possession stats, we did more with the ball than they did.
Again, the ref was a buffoon, as usual, and he certainly gave them the advantage.
Murray, Bart and Sav outstanding.
Sav definite captain material, shouting, encouraging and organising.
Just hope that cunt Downed was hit by a runaway articulated lorry in the tunnel. Dirty, whinging fucker.
Keep the heads up lads.

We sit way to deep to create anything worthwhile, and when we do ,while feeding off of scraps , we don't capitalise.
Hopefully that will change when the new geezer turns up, otherwise we'll be up shitcreek without a paddle. It's obvious to everyone except those currently picking the team and choosing tactics. God knows how the players must be feeling, Bradshaw in particular ,bet he wishes he was a foot taller ,but they also have to take some responsibility for the situation we're in ,if ain't working on the pitch change it ,and fuck AB.
This new bloke has to be in sharpish.

But for a lucky rebound today that went their way we would have been delighted with a point, so not understanding the, by some, harsh criticism.

We’ve conceded two added time goals in the last week and hit the bar twice. If luck had been on our side in those games we would be within reach of the playoffs 🤷‍♂️
But we ain't. Ifs buts and maybes don't win football matches.

We rode our luck. Relying on big men to cause havoc in box. 25 % possession at home. Loses more than wins.

We all know the main problem is up front, time and time again it’s 1 versus 3 defenders, we cannot compete without a centre forward , cannot hold the ball up, cannot bring the other players into the game , must find another player to team up with Nisso.

If your centre forward can’t hold the ball up progression can’t be made. Can’t fault his workrate but anyone can work hard that should be a given.

Perhaps. But as I said before, why then ask him to concentrate on defensive duties?

If Emakhu was playing on his own initiative then he clearly has more to learn than I thought.
They should know if he’s got the intelligence to defend. If he hasn’t don’t make him, work with his strengths not his weaknesses. A good coach/ manager will make him use his strengths to the team’s benefit

It was a tough ask especially with the injuries we have but at least we set out to try and compete today rather than waving the white flag of surrender with a back 5. Despite the result at least it was not a borefest. A lot of them put in massive shifts today but Bart was MOM in my opinion.

18905 today 👍

We’ve had some brilliant crowds this season despite our indifferent home form 👏

If only we could turn things around these could be exciting times 👍
It would be great if we could psck the stadium each home game..
But we have too many who only want to see the big games and then are always disappointed when we are out played, then don't turn out next game, ronseand repeat....
