Twenty six years ago today.

Could have been different if it weren't for George Graham who sent him to Sweden on loan for experience and to test his gumption. He apparently had a bit of attitude and wanted to score hollywood style goals so GG thought a culture shock would do him good as it would either make him or break him.

To this day he's still my all time favourite Wall player. He gave me and many of us some wonderful life long memories. What a great time it was to be young and following us back then! He lost a lot of respect from many of our fans after he signed for the tramps. Many don't like him for that. Each to there own but he wasn't Wall, owed us nothing and that was years after he left us.
Bang on P 👍

That rovers team had some strikers Hayles Pernice a million to villa
That little nonce cureton scored some cracking goals for a dwarf

I’m about the same age as Bomber and feel like I’ve grown up with him. Watched him break into the team that developed over the next few years into a team full of quality. The bloke smashed cancer just when he was in his prime. Was discarded and came back strong, time and again as it turns out. I can relate to this in many ways.

I love the fact he loves the club as much as I. There’s no bullshit in that, he’s actions speak more than words.

However this season pans out, whatever the club decide is the future- even what you think of his management style. He is one of our own.

The last 25 years at Millwall would've been very different if he'd gone elsewhere.
That's a bloody good point mate. Have never considered that. One thing for sure is he's brought more joy, smiles and good memories than anything else.

Just to see my boys face brimming with a huge smile when we beat Bradford at Wembley- His first play off final cause he couldn't make the Swindon or Barnsley ones. He looked up to the sky and said ' thanks Grandad thanks for making us Millwall' then he says 'thanks bomber for making my dream come true ' Yeah mate i had a tear in my eye for sure. Priceless memories for life. To me the geezer is an absolute legend both on and off the pitch.

And look at the stellar stars he played along side on his debut!.
I can remember that but couldn't remember the opposition.
Can also remember McRobert scoring against the anoraks 10 minutes into his debut, also Hockton's debut coming on as sub making a run down the right and thinking what a great prospect.
How anyone can complain about who fills the empty seats these days should remember the days of crowds like this.

Own up…they were rolling down your face.
What and ruin my mascara? You must have me down as some sort of cross dressing deviant, shirt lifting Doris or @Ulster Lion :hehe:

Mate, i have seen geezers at Wembley with those streams of tears that you describe. Fellas that i spent years in the trenches with and who are no shrinking violets. Fucking huge lumps, deranged and seriously violent in absolute bits and caught up in the whole emotion of it.

Every time i walk through those Den turnstiles and into the stand i have a look up into the skies, a little smile appears and under my breath i say thanks dad.

This one says it all for me. My first game back since August was Birmingham the other week. I get through the turnstiles and my best mate turns to me and says ' welcome home mate we've fucking missed you '

Those moments and more are why we are a club like no other.

English by birth- Millwall by the grace of God.

Yep. Every word of that. In my opinion went on to be world class. We haven't had many of that calibre

Also love the bit in his autobiography where he talks about career highlights obviously CL win and Euro 96 are up there, but his career highlight in his opinion, getting promoted to Div 1 with us

Certainly was a great time Peckham.

Not knocking Harris btw, no doubt one of our best ever signings. Another couple of underrated players who loved the club and are legends in my mind are Billy Neill and Les Briley - love seeing Les wandering around on matchday

Absolutely mate. Sir Les is one of my all time favourites too. Yes he's still about as is Jimmy Carter. Not certain but i think they do a bit of hospitality work on match days.

Not sure about Jimmy mate, but Les definitely does, always looking dapper in his suit
I always feel Les is seriously under-rated. Would Terry be as big a legend without Les next to him in the midfield!

I had my picture take with Les at the Harris testimonial v Hearts that you arranged for me to be in the exec box for (don’t think I ever thanked you for that mate), but took the photo on an android phone I had at the time and now can’t find it. Gutted.

(The pic we took at the testimonial dinner with Razor, Bomber and Bex now hangs in my office)

Totally agree on Les, top player.

Yeah they were good times mate

Used to see both Jimmy and Barry Rowan on the pitch pre-match, escorting bods on and off for ceremonies. Both seem to have been shifted some time ago. Hope they are still involved behind the scenes. Vivid.memories of Jimmy dropping the shoulder, couple of paces towards the bye line, dinking the perfect cross onto Sheringham's head, or to Cascarino's boot. Didn't have 'Assist's in those days. Pity.
