The Ryan Leonard appreciation thread

When fit last season he was excellent. Very pleased we rolled the dice on him giving him another season or two rather than let him go as some were suggesting at the end of last season. He is the dogs nuts but for the sake of keeping him fit I’d rather we only play him at right back, centre back or sweeper. He is combative and gives everything he’s got and in midfield he’s probably more likely to pick up a strain.

When we had Fuchs there was a bloke in the CBL who used to consistently bellow out "You useless.... German..... Cuntfuchs" - the phrase was always split up between words, but 'cuntfuchs' was always pronounced as one. Depending on how frustrated the bloke was with Uwe's latest miscontrol or falling over, the "cuntfuchs" bit used to change pitch. When really angry "cuntfuchs" was at least 3 octaves higher.
 
Lenny also has a cracking long shot in his arsenal. He is a solid player and would be one of the first on the team sheet every game, if it were not for his injuries.

Long throw too. He needs a bit of luck on the injury front. He weighs up the wingers well.
 
Leonard could play in front of the two CBS, giving us two midfields in front of him, certainly stop that ball over the top if we press too high, like Norwich had some joy with early on
 
Always rated the man,used to boss the midfield for southend whenever we played them,early contender for player of the season if stays(relatively) injury free.
100% every game and never stops talking/ encouraging team.
Covers so many gaps at times you wonder where hes meant to be playing!
