It has been reported that Styles has had talks with Watford. So I assume that GR does not intend to make a permanent signing with him. Apart from the injury, I thought he showed some quality and would add to the squad.

It’s not the current manager that’s the problem, but the Barnsley chairman who is playing hard ball and wants what he believes is the right price for Styles (whatever that price is!)

Gary Rowett says Millwall would be keen on a deal for Barnsley’s Callum Styles – but the price point is key.

The 23-year-old spent last season on loan with the Lions and it was reported earlier this week by The Athletic that Watford were in negotiations.

But the outlet added that a fee had not yet been agreed between the two clubs.

Styles signed a new deal with the Tykes before being allowed to head to South London and that included a release fee.

Don’t think the manager going will make that much difference really, especially if the new manager rates Styles as his chairman does! It’ll be a case of, “He’s under contract, we don’t have to sell him, but if you want him, then X is how much it’s going to cost you!”
