Show's how much I knew! Had no idea they we're ever in the football league or had a team for that matter!

Very cool post.
Scarborough were the first club to be automatically promoted from non league in the 1986/87 season replacing Lincoln. They lasted until the 1998/99 season when they were relegated and replaced by Cheltenham. They continued in non league until 2007 when they went bankrupt. Soon after they reformed as one of those fan based Phoenix clubs. They now play in the National league north. This season they finished 8th missing the play offs on goal difference.

Thank you for that mate, you learn something new everyday!

Find it crazy/somewhat sad, that teams can just diminish in such a way. Same goes for Darlington, Chester and Bury in a way I suppose mate?

Tiger and Hurricane, not Scorcher.
Showing your age BP.

Following successive mergers with other Fleetway publications in the 1960s, the comic was known as Tiger and Hurricane (from May 1965), then (from 1969) Tiger and Jag for many years. It was coupled with the football magazine Scorcher in 1974, resulting in Tiger and Scorcher appearing for more than six years. In 1980, there was a further, less successful, merger with another comic called Speed.

The end finally came on 30 March 1985, with Tiger merging into The Eagle[4] from issue #159 of that comic, dated 6 April 1985, which was temporarily titled Eagle and Tiger (with some strips from Tiger coming to the merged publications).
