The majority were, but there were some who weren’t! This small minority had Danish ‘Two Chords’ Brent sized up almost immediately!
Once those gullible and naive fuckers heard that their new messiah was a millionaire, reasoning went out the window and dreams of progressing up the Championship and back into the Premiership became a reality in their eyes!
When BanjoBjorn then confirmed that they would have Premiership and Champions League football within 5 years, it was obviously too much for their little brains to cope with the magnitude of the situation! All of them must have been letting one ‘off the wrist’ at the thought that the good times had returned to SE7!
Like you said, Wippa: gullible and naive, but I would also add desperate to that list as well. They would then (and probably still are now), desperate to become top dog in South East London again, and rub the Nigel’s and our faces in it! Alas for them it wasn’t to be! Relegation, not promotion followed, and now the scales have fallen from their eyes, and they can now see what they couldn’t see before: that Sandgaard doesn’t have enough money to get them back into the Championship, let alone the Premiership and Champions League!
The end of this season could be a defining one for both our clubs! We might grab a play off spot and who knows where that might take us? The Spotters on the other hand, might be fighting to save themselves from relegation! Imagine their meltdown if it were us that got to the Premiership and they got relegated to League 2? They wouldn’t be able to handle the fact that their two most hated South London rivals were now in the top division of English football - without them!
