Why is the transfer deadline day today & not 31st January? Have they changed it?

So next year will it be 30th January or 6th Feb? (I’m asking for a friend )

You can't expect a business with all of it's money to work weekends every few years.

Because clubs play on the Saturday & squads and the manager are away from their own admin on the Friday. So Friday is avoided.

The January window used to end on 31st January but, as this could fall over the weekend it was moved to the following Thursday. However there is some flexability in the date if needed.
