This was written in the stars a 2-1 defeat to a team that has not won since Boxing Day.

We did not start well. They had the better of the first 10/15 minutes and we really struggled to get a foothold in the game. Our situation was not helped as Murray was off on 22 and replaced by Danny. He and their attacker involved in a clash from which he never recovered. It took another 8 minutes before we had a shot which was a tame left footed effort from Leonard. We started to come into it and a knock back from Casper to Flem and a good bending shot which their keeper tipped around the post. A little later a good through ball from Casper into their box to Watmore which went off for a corner. Sadly, the set piece came to nothing. All square at the break.

We definitely started at a quicker tempo . After a few minutes we had a good spell of pressure. A corner from Honeyman to the far post was met by Flem but saved. A good ball inside to Danny from Sav and his shot was deflected for a corner. There was lots of possession and they looked rattled but we kept pressing but got no rewards. A lovely turn from Flem in the middle sent him clear but the move came to nothing. On 67 a header from Tango was saved on the line and NH realised it was time for fresh legs. On came BNC, Longman and Mayor and off went Watmore Leonard and Honeyman. A long throw from Flem was knocked on by Cooper but it never fell to a blue shirt. On 77 a decent corner was touched on by Cooper and Longman stuck out a leg and tapped it in. So, 1-1 and everything to play for. They had other ideas. They pushed the ball down the right, a cross came over which went over Tango’s hard, hit their attacker on the back of the head for 2-1. We huffed and puffed and could have played for another 30 minutes and not scored. It was proper brown stuff and a team that had lost five of their last six and not won since Boxing Day beat us. Hang your heads in shame!

Shark made really heavy weather of keeping out both their goals and failed miserably. Leonard was like the curates egg…good in parts. Cooper was steady but Tango was poor to concede their second goal. Danny tried hard but failed to cut out the cross for their second goal. Sav was busy and aggressive nad Casper had some moments but we did not make the best of them. Honeyman was busy, Watmore had some moments and Flem played OK but never made the best of his opportunities. Oba was disappointing. Poor touches, easily outmuscled and very little threat. Longman added some legs and BNC didn’t make the best of his crossing opportunities. Mayor looked lively and showed some promise. Sav went off at the death and Esse came on but NH forget to give him a magic wand.

At times we were the better side but we just could not take our chances….the story of our season. And you could have put money on the final score as we were proper brown stuff. A win would have taken us well clear but a defeat drops us near the wrong end of the table. Miserable!!!

Shocking display up there with the worst of JE tenure

Our defence is leaky and gets caught out too often, but our forward players are poor in the extreme. No natural goal scorers amongst them leading to too much pressure on the defence. If you don't score you can't win games.
Someone needs to uncover a nugget for next season that's for sure

“Tango was poor to concede their second goal.” Not so Silver he was shoved in the back by Wyke as was Coops in their box for a stonewall pen and typically not given.

Both of which were the type of foul that the ref was giving the whole match anywhere else on the pitch.
To add insult to injury, the Cooper one he gave the foul to them. Very poor indeed.

Just my take ,I thought Tanganga could have been stronger in the challenge, after all he could see the ball coming. Not entirely his fault , the crosser should have been closed down a lot quicker. Cooper and Flemming had their shirts pulled umpteen times and the septic didn't or wouldn't give it.

Their keeper was quality. Made a couple of very good saves, especially that shot from Flem in the first half. Wasteful wall up front, we had enough chances to finish the game off. Cooper’s free header was the worst.

Same as last season albeit we are at the wrong end of the table, we have fuck all up front.

With the above in mind plus West broms debatable penalty it proves what fine margins can decide games. We certainly have very little luck.
