Half & half hats

He is a snide tramp and that's in the clobber that he chored the fucking gibbering gimp.
Used to get in the Beckton Arms when my mate had it. Me and a couple of fellow Wall paid a visit after a vermin home game. In waltzes Jela and his "one flew over the cuckoo's nest" entourage. The fuckin mouth on it!! The birdman had money in the pub so was there that night. 5 of their "top boys" escorted him to our table with an apology on the understanding we didn't take the feet from under him! Fuckin si! Good memory though. Remembered to cross the street when he caught a glimpse of a handful of us down the Roman Road! It's all about customer relations!! Lowest rated vermin chap, got to be!

See my post above mate.

A bit before my time (I was still a young un) but I’ve heard Arsenal and Millwall were the first clubs to embrace the casual scene in London. early 80’s the likes of Chelsea and the vermin were still sporting Fred perrys, Harringtons, bomber jackets, boots etc while Millwall and arsenal were bowling about in their designer clobber and sports gear.
The scousers brought a lot of labels back from Italy and France when they was in the european league back in the 80's. They used to empty clobber shops on there tours.

Millwall was wearing stone island in the early 90's. Prior to that it was Ball and Fiourucci jeans. Chaps of a certain age will remember niknaks in soho, Woodhouse, Moda three on tower bridge road and Le-pel on OKR. They did all the top labels back then.

I was abroad a lot while in the Marines so picked up some tidy gear in the 80s. Boss, Verte Vallee, Ciao, Marc O Polo, Best Company, the list could go on. Loved the original Armani clobber. All topped off with huge sprays of Aramis!!

There is a fantastic book out that was recently released called ‘Magnetic’ by a couple of Cardiff lads, who incidentally accompanied Wall on the odd occasion in the early 90s. Anyway it’s a comprehensive and detailed look at the history of Stone Island, CP Company and Boneville from the 80s through to the early 90s before these labels, particularly Stone Island and CP, really became mainstream and how it was mainly (but not exclusively) lads on the terraces that sowed the seeds for the popularity that these brands enjoy today.

As you would expect Wall get a few mentions among others and I would recommend it if it’s your thing. There is loads of first hand accounts of chaps searching out clobber at home and abroad acquiring Jackets etc sometimes legally and sometimes not, memories of some fondly remembered shops as well as loads of photos from back in the day when only those who really knew the score wore the gear.

Yeah I know the scousers started it all. Was actually the very late 70’s they got the ball rolling. But heard it was Millwall and Arsenal who first went casual in London with the other main mobs taking a bit longer to cotton on. I remember blokes wearing stone island at Millwall in the very early 90’s. Never saw it anywhere else then, just at Millwall. Could have been at other places but I never saw other mobs wearing it then. Got my first stone island jumper in about 93 when I was 18. Cost me a weeks wages 😆

AR, Cardiff soul crew, good lad. Still speaks highly of us at wall and the mob he used to tag along with in the early 90’s.

Definitely, I think it was 81 we were at Chester, walked into Euston station about 20 odd handed and stood out like a sore thumb, we were in Pringles, Burberrys Nike blue flash etc, was thousands of vermin, all flight jackets and boots.Ended up on our toes but if memory?? serves me right they caught the older turk on the underground, he blagged it , said he was going Hartlepool to see his nan.😄
