Championship side Derby County have been deducted a further nine points after admitting breaches of English Football League accounting rules.

The club were previously docked 12 points for going into administration and have agreed to the dismissal of their appeal against that decision.
The latest penalty leaves Wayne Rooney's side on -3 points - 18 points from safety at the foot of the table.

And it means they are almost certain to be relegated to League One.

More to follow.

Derby have cheated over a number of years according to this report, so maybe the punishment should also be applied over a similar period.

They have effectively done us and other clubs out of points, and weren't they the ones to finally send Wednesday down last year? Not that they deserved any better.

Wycombe deserved better but not being a big name were expendable.

I can remember (mind not playing tricks I hope) when Derby were fined (20k) for financial irregularities back in the 70’s or 80’s. At the same Peterborough got thrown out the league although re-elected
