Earlier in the season was sitting in the lower CBL. During the keeper warm ups and young lad asked Bart for a picture, the steward told the lad the stay back. Bart intervened and made the steward let the lad go right up to the gate. The kid got his pic and had a beaming smile on his face. Legend.

In case anyone has forgotten just how good Bart was!

I spoke to hime at last night’s club dinner. I reminded him that he was on our table last year and we spoke at length about his plans for the future. He told me then that he did not want to go out on loan and play L1 football, he did not want to coach and he had other interests outside football. I asked him if anything had changed and he said they had not. I told him that he had been a great servant to our club and there were times when we were really up against it and had our backs right up against the wall and he saved us. I thanked him for his service and wished him the very best for the future. He was very humble.
