our corners

Did anyone else notice that at 3 nil down GR still brought all 11 players back into our box for their corners. Firstly I dont get that tactic at all - leaving one upfield at any time keeps two of theirs on the half way line, rather than on the edge of our box - and secondly at 3 nil down , surely even that late on showing some attacking intent and breaking out and getting a goa; might have livened up up the crowd and shut up Leeds and then who knows - and if they score another then so what?
To me, even losing that badly, GR instinctively goes defensive to hold on to what we have got - nothing!

GR tactics are shit in general , have always been shit an no matter of how much glitter will cover the fact that they are shit. He has always been tactically inept at best, fucking uselsess in reality , in anything than trying to to concede first and maybe get a goal on the breakdown.

Every level of football i've watched or played in 99.9%of teams leave one up front
Normally a nuisance/quick player, Bradshaw?to keep the defender(s) occupied and not getting plenty of time on the ball to come straight back at us because theres no "out".
Its an appalling tactic and just leads to more pressure.
Don't get it at aĺl.

We need to work on our attacking corners as well, we had five corners in the first half on Sunday (three before they scored) and everyone came to nothing, for a side that are supposed to be set piece specialists we need to work on this.

You know it, I know it, and I would say100% of all suffering souls on here know it. Unfortunately the one bloke who can do something about it doesn't.
About time the players on the pitch took matters into their own hands, or maybe they are scared to take the responsibility. Sure as shit what we are doing ain't fucking working.

Every game on TV shows 22 players in the penalty area,it has now filtered down to the championship

Been saying this for ages ....in my youth team I always have 2 players up or Near the halfway line so the oppo has at least 2-3 to mark them which in turn frees the penalty box of 5 players plus we have a outlet if the ball gets cleared not just coming straight back as in GR master defence plans .not really rocket science is it ? , plus our corners are so.predictive now and hardly look like scoring ,need a variation to mix things up but having 5 coaches who were defenders never going to happen

GR was asked about this at the fans forum. He stated that statistically we concede less goals from set pieces with 11 back.

Now, I am sure he was telling the truth, however those stats probably don't give an indication of how many goal we concede our chances we concede due to giving possession straight back to teams in the second phase of play.

It also doesn't show how many chances we lose ourselves by not having an outball.

Basically I draw the conclusion that Rowett is a mind numbingly boring type of coach that wants to bore his way to a certain points total. Nothing wrong with being solid defensivley and hard to break down, but that should never be the full extent of our ambition game to game.

I don't have problems with the corners against us it's our taking of them never feel like we're gonna score , the things that worries me is how vulnerable we look when ast players run at us.
