Little ole Millwall - no more

Hutchinson said in another interview he didn’t know how to handle the second half v Blackburn. An open and honest admission but I worry that our club captain who’s been here 7 years would say that.

None of the players (or manager) knew how to handle the 2nd half against Blackburn! It wasn’t just down to Hutch!

If we get into the same situation again, with everything riding on our last game of the season away to Swansea (who are arguably a better passing side than Blackburn), and we get ahead, our players will have to use every kind of shithousery tactics available to break up the game, and stop the Swansea players from getting back into it!

We cannot, at the end of the 2023/2024 season, look back again on the hard work of that season being all for nothing again, should we miss out on yet another play off place by the smallest of points or GD margins!

The last game did not cost us a play off place, it was the five games before, which would have told the championship managers this season how to set up against us.

Rowett has to come up with better tactics this season or we could be in trouble no matter what new players come in.

Had we won the Blackburn game we would have secured a play off place, regardless of what happened in the 5 games before. That is a fact!

This was our last chance saloon moment, and the players and manager couldn’t step up to the plate and get us over the line!

Definitely agree with your last paragraph, though!

He’s a solid Captain. We thought we had it in the bag at half time but Blackburn with nothing to lose threw everything into attack and we just got mega nervy at 3-2, I’m sure they could sense it from the crowd as well. Once a team takes their foot off the gas and the opposition have their tails up after clawing their way back into it, it’s very difficult to rally and get back on it again. Hopefully we will use that painful experience to make sure we don’t end up in that position again.

Our bottle went in the last five games, Blackburn should have been a non event all the results went for us in those final games otherwise we would not have gone to the last game.

We do not have one player at this time who is capable of premier football so maybe it was meant to be, it would have been lambs to the slaughter every week and no one wants to see that.

IF, we improve this season as we have done the last four we might be ok but the improvement will have to start with our tactics.

Harsh but true!
