Winger Martyn Woolford has said that Millwall can definitely turn our season around in the remaining seven games of the season and he has warned people about writing off our chances.

With Woolford grabbing the match winner against Bournemouth last season on the final day of the campaign as we pulled off the Great Escape, he’s told the official site that he’s confident we can repeat that particular trick this season and claw back the eight point deficit we have to safety.

With the Charlton game this weekend first up of three home games, he knows it’s an incredibly tough task but he feels the squad are capable of doing it.

‘We’ve got to take the confidence from what we did this time last year into our next seven games. Everyone had written us off apart from us in the building here. We are in exactly the same mind frame – none of us are giving up at all, not by any means. We will keep at it, one game at a time, and we know that we can turn this around.’

Three points, the confidence lift it would bring and the way victory over Charlton would set us up for the three games on home soil would be the perfect way to go about that given the fans will be behind the team in their numbers at The Den for the next possible nine points, Woolford went on to talk about how important our home games will now be.

‘We’re in a real battle so the only way to look at it is literally one game at a time. Next up we’ve got a London derby, a big game against Charlton, so we will focus on that one first. Obviously we want to win that for the fans and for ourselves too. If we are going to stay up we have to start winning, and winning now.’
