Millwall have today confirmed the loan capture of Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Ben Marshall.

The 26 year old arrives at The Den having made nine appearances for Wolves so far, including their one nil victory over Millwall at the Molineux in September.

Having come through Stoke City’s ranks, Marshall has had spells with Northampton Town, Cheltenham Town, Carlisle United and Sheffield Wednesday before completing a switch to Leicester City in 2012.

Having spent 18 months with Leicester he moved onto Blackburn where he scored 15 goals in 140 appearances in his three and a half years at Ewood Park, and he then made the switch to wolves in January 2017 but has found game time hard to come by under Nuno Santo.

Marshall is not cup tied but he’s unavailable for the replay at Rochdale as he wasn’t registered for the original tie.

He’s been handed the No 44 shirt.

Speaking to the official site Marshall himself said he felt the club would be a ‘perfect fit’ for him.

‘I’m really pleased to put pen-to-paper. It’s been a long time since I played and I wanted to come and get some games. Millwall was a perfect fit. The philosophy here is to work hard and the manager has had a good chat with me. It’s good to hear and I can’t wait to get started.’

He added.

‘It’s been a bit difficult watching on the sidelines, but that’s football. Wolves have brought some really good players in and the lads are doing fantastic – sometimes you’ve just got to hold your hands up. I’ve been keeping myself ticking. I’ve not played and training wise at Wolves I’ve just been running, but I’ve spoken to the manager and discussed that I need a bit of fitness work and a few minutes, but hopefully it shouldn’t take too long for me to get going.’
