Shaun Williams has said that Millwall still have plenty to fight for this season with seven games remaining.

Our Championship status remains in the balance following the two all draw with Blackburn in our last game, and whilst Williams concedes that following the game it did feel like a defeat to many of the players it is another point and it could prove to be a valuable one as many wouldn’t have given us much hope of a positive result against Blackburn anyway.

Speaking to the official site our new left back explained that all we can do is move forward now into the remaining games and look to put right the mistakes we made in the last one that cost us two additional points.

‘I think we still believe we can do it. We’re not going to stop until the last game of the season and hopefully we can turn it around. Everyone was quite disappointed on Saturday. We were quite exhausted as well, but the fight has not gone.’

Williams goes on to say that being so close to pulling ourselves out of the drop zone now it would be ridiculous to give up hope because with seven games left to play that means there is potentially a return of 21 points still to play for and he knows the team are capable of taking points off everyone even if we aren’t favoured to do so – pointing to the Derby result.

He does know it’s going to go down to the wire though and if we can get the points quickly that will give everyone a boost, but we don’t just need really an unbeaten run now, we need back to back victories but there are some hard games coming and we will have to take our chances as they come along and then be tighter in defence – but that has been the story of our season.

With seven games left nothing will be decided in the next two or three, but points in those two or three could be very telling as the better we do now, the more pressure it puts on those around us.
