On loan Andy Wilkinson has now returned to parent club Stoke City following the expiry of his loan deal at The Den.

The 30 year old defender moved to us back towards the end of October on a three month loan spell, and during his time with us he made nine appearances in the league, but undoubtedly would’ve played more had he not effectively spent a month out with suspension.

He made his debut in the scoreless draw against Wigan Athletic within 24 hours of moving to the club, and during the games he played, we kept three clean sheets.

There was talk of a permanent move owing to the fact he’s out of contract in the summer, but it remains to be seen if manager Ian Holloway sees him as an option going forward given his recent dissatisfaction with the team.

Having last played in our loss to Blackpool back on January 10, unless I’ve missed an injury, you would think not.
