Centre half Byron Webster has said he fully expects a twist or turn yet in the League One promotion battle as whilst Sheffield United and Bolton Wanderers may have pulled clear in the top two spots in the table, there are enough games left and points to fight for, for significant change to happen at the top.

With Millwall pulling level with Southend United on 66 points as we continue our battle for the Play Offs, Webster made a telling difference in the two one victory over Shrewsbury Town on Tuesday evening as he gave us the advantage with Shaun Hutchinson scoring the second, and speaking to the official site in his own post game press conference, Webster was adamant that the battle at the top will go down to the wire.

‘I can guarantee that there will be more twists and turns before the end of the season. It’s so tight at the top of the table but we just have to focus on ourselves and hope that other teams slip up and results go our way.’

With his half volley giving us the advantage in the last game, he went on to say it was nice to be on the scoresheet again as it had been a while.

‘It’s good to score, it’s been a long time. The last time I scored a goal was on the first day of the season and the gaffer has been onto me since then, telling me to go and get another.’

Victory of course was the second on the spin for Millwall after recent blips and he said that the side were treating all the games like the proverbial Cup Final now and that would continue with the Gillingham clash at the weekend.

‘It’s a big one for us because we are treating all of our remaining matches like Cup finals. We had a slump in results recently but there was no real concern with the lads, we were always confident that we would turn our form around and get back into the mix. Now we have had a couple of wins on the spin it’s about building on that and climbing as high up the table as we can.’
