It’s being reported that Millwall continue to be in pole position to secure the signing of out of contract former Yeovil Town defender Byron Webster and that he could sign as early as tomorrow, following a medical.
The 27 year old does have a contract offer on the table from his former employers but following their relegation from the Championship last season, it seems he wants to stay at this level and test himself further following some impressive appearances for them in their first year in the Champ.
The speculation linking him with us has been ongoing for quite a number of weeks, and it’s been believed, following the words of manager Ian Holloway previously, that he was very confident of securing the signing of the free agent over the likes of Leeds United and Ipswich Town and it’s being suggested by sources apparently close to the club that this is now set to take place on Tuesday as he is booked in for a medical, and expected, subject to passing, to put the finishing touches on a deal with us and be announced.
