Millwall tel has said that he feels fans need to strongly unite behind Ian Holloway as he bids to turn around our fortunes and give him time to get these players performing as we all know they should be capable of.

The submission reads:

Think after the stuff we’ve endured since the season started I wouldn’t be too discouraged if we don’t pick points up straight away.

Don’t get me wrong I wanna see us winning as much as any Millwall fan but I think it’s going to take a bit of time. I just hope that some of our support don’t get on Holloway’s back too soon if things aren’t going our way.

Think the club have appointed the best manager available to us and I think that with the fans turning up at The Den and packing it out it will give everyone a lift and other teams will once again fear coming to our place!

Holloway is almost everywhere in the press today and he’s certainly saying the right things and leading from the front in terms of taking charge of the dressing room, as he has said he’s already picked his side for our next game and his message to those not in the squad was pretty simple – don’t moan, wait for your turn, be thankful you are at the club and when your chance does come along then make the most of it.

He also commented that he doesn’t care if players like him, at the end of the day their job is to do as he says and give their all on the pitch, because he wants a winning Millwall not to make friends here, so I think many will agree with the submission really.

Holloway has a lot of work to do, not least in terms of returning confidence to the team and belief in what they do, and it won’t be achieved overnight but in the next game hopefully the very least we will see is a full bloodied display of effort and desire to get the result we all want, and if the new gaffer gets that he has something to build on.
