The League 1 season continued with a few games played during midweek.

Sheffield United’s promotion bid was strengthened with the lead at the top extended. Millwall and Rochdale’s play off hopes were dented as Oxford boosted their own bid.

Here’s a round up of the League 1 action from the other games.

Results

Tuesday 28th March 2017 – LEAGUE ONE
AFC Wimbledon 3-1 Rochdale 19:45
Oxford United 5-1 Bury 19:45
Sheffield United 2-0 Millwall 19:45

Wimbledon made the most of playing against 10 men for 45 minutes as three second half goals saw the Dons to a 3-1 win over Rochdale. This first defeat in four has probably ended any outside hopes of a play off recovery bid as Dale dropped to ninth, six points adrift of the top six.

If Oxford are to stage a late surge into the top six this 5-1 win over Bury would have helped – it moved the U’s to within four points of the play off places and improved their goal difference too. The Shakers’ first defeat in five means they remain four points clear of the bottom four.

Sheffield United’s unbeaten run was extended with a 2-0 win over Millwall. This victory took United seven points clear of Bolton at the top and 13 ahead of Fleetwood in third. The Lions are now four without a win having lost the last two, the gap to sixth placed Southend remains at three points.
