An unbeaten run Charlton had been on in recent week, salvaged by a draw at Fleetwood in the match prior, was ended at the Valley with the Addicks beaten by Wimbledon who went away with a two-one win.
Northampton came up from League 2 with Wimbledon last season and the Cobblers have started well at this level but they were beaten three-one at Chesterfield with Gillingham’s in-different start seeing them suffer another defeat when they lost two-one at Rob Page’s (now Northampton boss) former club Port Vale.
The real in-form side in League 1 at the moment are Sheffield United with yet another win seeing them make it four on the spin when Peterborough went away from Bramall Lane having been beaten one-nil.
Southend hadn’t won in the league going into the weekend but that changed when they won at Roots Hall with Millwall beaten with defeat something Bolton suffered too when a favourite (arguably the favourites) to win the league lost one-nil at Walsall.
