The Championship season continued with the latest round of games played during midweek.

Cardiff, moving up to second, closed the gap on leaders Wolves – who didn’t play until Wednesday – to a point when winning at Barnsley.

Neil Warnock’s Bluebirds climbed above one of his former clubs, Sheffield United, into second, after the Blades slipped to defeat in a nine goal thriller at Bramall Lane – Fulham edging the win 5-4.

A point for Burton wasn’t enough to take them out of the bottom three; meanwhile, Sunderland’s loss at Aston Villa, remaining nicely placed to mount an automatic promotion assault, means the Black Cats remain rooted to the foot of the Championship.

Here’s a round up of the Championship results with some games to take place.
