Friday will see a double header as the Championship returns following the international break – third bottom Birmingham face leaders Cardiff with Bristol City having a chance to move up to second – albeit temporarily – should they overcome Burton side just above the relegation zone.
Bolton’s bid to find that illusive win will see them host midtable Sheffield Wednesday.
Now heading in the right direction, Fulham look for a third straight win that could close the gap on the top six – Preston go to Craven Cottage hoping for a result to ensure they keep sixth place at least.
Three defeats in four have seen Leeds slip from top to fifth whereas Reading go to Elland Road just above the bottom three and having failed to win any of the last five.
Sheffield United went into the break with a defeat, which prevented them from moving into an automatic promotion place. This could still be the case if the Blades do beat an Ipswich side that have lost three out of the last five played.
Midland rivals Wolves and Aston Villa meet in the late game on Saturday with another derby taking place on Sunday lunchtime to round off this round of games – Derby host Nottingham Forest in a game both sides need to win as the gap between them and the top six is growing.
What will happen in this one though? Cast your vote so we know if you think it’ll be all smiles or disappointment come the full time whistle.
