Similarly to the early part of last season, Aston Villa have struggled in the early weeks but will hope to turn fortunes around at Villa Park against Middlesbrough, who currently sit in a play-off place following Premier League relegation last term.

Leeds’ thrashing of Burton took them up to second ahead of the hosting of Birmingham, surprisingly just above the bottom three following three successive losses.

Bidding to become the first side to beat Cardiff – after they dropped their first points in a weekend draw – Preston welcome the Championship pacesetting Bluebirds to Deepdale.

Meanwhile struggling Brentford and Sunderland face difficult meetings against Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest, respectively, as they bid to climb out of the bottom two – in the Bees’ case – and the Black Cats remain above it.

Basement side Bolton face fellow League One promotion winners from last season, of course champions, Sheffield United at the Macron Stadium looking for a first win and end a three game losing run – the Blades have won their last three.

Wednesday evening will see one fixture as Hull hope to bounce back from their thrashing against Derby on Friday when travelling to Fulham.

What will happen in this one though? Cast your vote so we know if you think it’ll be all smiles or disappointment come the full time whistle.
