Scunthorpe saw the lead at the top of the table cut last weekend after a draw, they’ll be at Glanford Park looking for a win against MK Dons to retain this regardless of what others do with Karl Robinson’s side not doing anywhere near as expected this season.

Wimbledon can claim September’s Goal of the Month winner in their side when they host a struggling Swindon side, at Kingsmeadow the Dons will look to consolidate a comfortable midtable position.

Struggling Oldham travel to local rivals Bolton in a meeting the Trotters will be favourites to win, more so after ending a poor run of form recently but the Latics haven’t been in bad for of late as they aim to move away from the relegation positions.

Another side struggling are Charlton, they’re closer to relegation to promotion after dropping out of the Championship last season. Coventry are bottom of the table ahead of the Sky Blues’ trip to the Valley.

London rivals to Charlton are Millwall with them also struggling, anything but a win at Northampton (who are in a position many might have expected the Lions to be in) might see them come away from Sixfields having dropped into the bottom four.

Bradford closed in on leaders Scunthorpe last time round with another win, a win at Oxford’s Kassam Stadium could well take Stuart McCall’s side to the summit with his return to the Bantams proving highly successful so far with Rochdale another promotion chasing side with Dale going from relegation threatened to a side in the play-offs with them taking on another going for this Bury at Spotland.

The unbeaten run Sheffield United were on did end with an EFL Trophy defeat but a good run of league form has seen the Blades surge up the able with Port Vale coming to Bramall Lane with both sides there or thereabouts in a play-off place, once could lose out if either side wins.

We can say it goes without saying the expectation; most definitely the hope at least, will be for a positive result.

But will this happen? We’ll find out soon enough!
