Youngster Kris Twardek earlier this week signed a new contract extension at Millwall.
The 20 year old left midfielder has signed a 12 month extension keeping him at the club for the challenge of next season, and having become an important part of the U21s this season having overcome a broken toe that held him back, he’s now looking forward to becoming a bigger part of the first team squad in the future, having found himself on the bench for games against Fleetwood, Bury and Oldham.
Speaking to the official site after penning the extension, the youngster explained.
‘I came very close to getting my debut too. I was stripped and ready to come on but the ball didn’t go out of play so I didn’t make it which was very frustrating at the time. I feel I have got back towards my best form at the end of the season, and I know the next one is going to be an important one for me.’
Boosting his first team hopes have been the progression of Mahlon Romeo and Ben Thompson, especially with manager Neil Harris showing that age is no bar to action if a player has earned it.
‘It’s a real encouragement to see the likes of Mahlon Romeo and Ben Thompson making the breakthrough this year. Not only are you pleased for them, but it’s also an incentive for you to follow them. The next week or so is hopefully going to be very exciting. If we can get the job done against Bradford on Friday night it will be wonderful to be part of a Millwall squad that is going to Wembley for a Final with the chance of promotion.’
