The return of Tim Cahill might take the headlines, but Millwall’s second signing of the January window was Norwich City’s Harry Toffolo.
The 22 year old left back joined the club yesterday and having come through Norwich’s youth system, he has taken in loan spells with Swindon Town, Rotherham United, Peterborough United, Scunthorpe United and Doncaster Rovers as he continued his development as a player.
He has signed a contract until the end of the season at Millwall and will add defensive cover for Neil Harris in the second half of the season.
Speaking to the official site Toffolo explained.
‘It’s brilliant to sign – I can’t wait to get started. Every time I’ve played at The Den against Millwall, they’ve always been a great team to play against; very well-structured and I look forward to working with the manager and his group of players. Scott Barron is my agent, who is good friends with Neil Harris, and there’s been interest for a few years now. My name has been mentioned a lot and I’ve always wanted to come to Millwall. To have the opportunity to come here now is amazing.’
He added.
‘They’re a Championship club that are doing very well and I’m looking forward to getting going. To able to call The Den ‘home’ for the next few months is fantastic. I can’t wait to get started. Any time I’ve played here the atmosphere has been electric and I’ve always wondered what it would be like being on the other side of the fence. Now I am, I can enjoy it and look forward to my first game.’
Toffolo takes the No 36 shirt for the season but he is cuptied having played for Doncaster in the FA Cup.
