Millwall winger Jed Wallace has heaped praise on Millwall strike duo Lee Gregory and Steve Morison following their work in helping to preserve our unbeaten home record of late in the game against Cardiff City.

Hosting Neil Warnock’s side at The Den for Friday evening’s clash, Wallace was in front of club press today with the players back in training as we prepare for our next match and undergo recovery work following our efforts in the last tie.

With Cardiff taking an early lead through Junior Hoilett in the third minute of the first half, Millwall arguably went on to have the better of the game and hit a deserved leveller five minutes from the half time break as Lee Gregory found the back of the net and with greater possession and chances on another day we could’ve taken all three points.

Speaking to the official site with the point taking us to ten unbeaten on home soil, Wallace explained.

‘When the ball comes to him quickly and he has a snap-shot he is a really good finisher. We are very lucky to have someone like that here and when he teams up with Moro it makes us very difficult to play against. They have probably been the difference for us over the last six weeks. When those two are playing well, Millwall win football matches.’

With Wallace’s former team mate at Wolverhampton Wanderers, Ben Marshall, making his debut following his arrival at the club in January on a loan spell, we also had Tim Cahill coming off the bench as he returned home in the last window, and Wallace knew the competition for places now would benefit everyone.

‘That’s the strength in depth. You have people like Ben Marshall and Tim Cahill that come in and will be a good addition. It needs to be like that, it needs to be competitive at the club. It is important to have that strength in depth and make sure everyone is competing for their place because that’s when players perform at their best.’
