With a disappointing loss to Shrewsbury Town last weekend, right back Mahlon Romeo has said Millwall simply have to look to bounce back in the next match against Scunthorpe.

Travelling to Glanford Park next Saturday for the tie against the current League One leaders, Romeo knows it’ll be a tough game but with positives to take from the performance against Shrewsbury, he knows that if we can sort ourselves out in the final third of the pitch, then it’s the perfect game to respond in and take a morale boosting victory.

Speaking to the official site as he met with the media following last weekend’s tie, Romeo pointed to the statistics from the game that showed how one sided it was and for him, not only was it proof we were heading in the right direction still but it also clearly showed that lady luck wasn’t with us in front of the net and that’s something he’s confident will change with the front line we have – because we’ve proven it before.

‘Their goal was their only real threatening chance. We had loads of chances and it’s frustrating but we have to go again. The gaffer said after the game, firstly we have to start with a clean sheet, and after that it comes down to finishing our chances. We had loads and I think on another day it would have been a completely different score.’

Romeo went on to say that ultimately that’s football though and some days you just can’t find the net where the next match you can easily register three of four goals on the day from fewer clear cut efforts.

‘But that’s football. We have got to look at the basics, how we conceded and how we can stop conceding. If you look at the way we played overall there are positives to be taken from it, so that’s what we will do.’
