Skipper Paul Robinson has said that all of the players can’t wait to get going under new manager Ian Holloway.
Speaking to the official site with the players meeting the new gaffer for the first time ahead of training yesterday, Robbo said that everyone was excited having listened to the new man in charge, and he feels his excitment and enthusiasm will be infectious for the players.
‘He spoke really well to us. The chairman and the board have done really well to appoint someone of his calibre because he comes with a track record of getting clubs promoted our of this division. The manager has always had his teams playing attractive football, and the players are looking forward to the challenge of working on that style of play over the coming weeks and months.’
Robinson says that obviously the first port of call for the squad is to get us out of the mess we are in and start adding points to the table as quickly as possible, but he’s confident that there is enough talent and quality within the playing staff for us to do that, but we need to reach our potential now and start performing because we simply haven’t lived up to that billing so far this campaign.
It will be interesting to see what changes Holloway makes this transfer window, and it will definitely be interesting to see how quickly he can have an affect on the squad and galvanise them all again and get them performing to their best.
