Skipper Paul Robinson has said he’s absolutely delighted with the performance of the team today in our one nil victory over Charlton.

Speaking to the official site following the game Robinson said that the ‘commitment and desire’ of the players to put in the performance and to get the win that we wanted was spot on, and that has now got to be our benchmark as we progress further into the season.

Robinson had an additional two reasons to be happy after the final whistle went as well, as Millwall kept their first clean sheet of the league season and he also picked up the official Man of the Match award in the game.

‘As defenders we haven’t been too pleased with how we’ve performed in a few games. But we were solid from start to finish today in what was a very important game for us. It was a huge team effort and once we went in front you could see how much the players wanted it. The intensity we’ve shown in the last two games is our benchmark now and we have to build from here.’

Robinson was obviously delighted that we were able to build on our last win against Blackpool and get our first back to back victories of the season as well.

All in all, a decent weekend and some hope and optimism for the future returns.
