Manager Ian Holloway has said that he’s expecting a very tough test from Spanish side Real Mallorca tonight.
We host them at The Den with the game kicking off at 7pm later this evening, and speaking to the official site ahead of the game, Holloway said he expected them to have lots of possession and to keep the ball well, so it will be a test we don’t often face.
‘I’m expecting us to have to chase the ball a little bit which will provide a good indication of our fitness levels. They will be a typical Spanish team, good in possession and able to move the ball around well. Our challenge will be to win it back as quickly as we can to try and hurt them on the counter attack.’
Holloway also confirmed that he would be sending out two different sides in each half to give all the players a good 45 minute run out and earlier today they still did have the normal training routine so he’s hoping it’s a good mental test for them as well as the obvious physical test.
