Millwall skipper Tony Craig has said that the players are relishing the task ahead of us with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth next up.
We face the high flying Premier League side at the weekend in the FA Cup third round tie and although Craig knew it would be an incredibly tough game for us given their development in recent years (they sit in 9th place in the table and just held Arsenal to a three all draw), he also knew the expectation and pressure would be all on them allowing us just to focus on our game and enjoy it.
Speaking to the official site to give a mini preview of the game, the skipper explained.
‘As a Football League club I think you always relish the prospect of getting a Premier League side at home when the draw for the Third Round of the FA Cup is made. We have been rewarded for reaching this stage of the competition with an exciting and very tough encounter.’
He went on to say.
‘Whilst we go into this tie knowing we’ll have to be at the top of our game to beat Bournemouth, we won`t be overawed. This is a massive opportunity for ourselves, individually and as a team, to show a wider audience just what we are capable of, and it`s a challenge we will rise to I`m sure.’
Whilst the form book can go out the window for these ties, one thing is for sure with their three all draw and our two all draw both sides can score – and leak goals – so it could be tasty.
