Chris Zebroski scored his first goal for Millwall but a late equaliser denied the Lions all three points.

Millwall have lost just once since Willie Donachie took over as caretaker boss six matches ago but they remain in the relegation thanks to Akpo Sodje’s goal.

Zebroksi opened the scoring in the 20th minute when he collected Poul Hubertz’s flick-on from Tony Craig’s cross and buried a shot into the far corner.

Millwall had chances to increase their lead but Hubertz and Danny Senda were unable to find a way past Port Vale goalkeeper Mark Goodlad.

And they were made to pay for those misses in the 70th minute when former Lions striker Leon Constantine set up Sodje and he lashed a fierce equaliser past Lenny Pidgeley.

Hubertz and Darren Byfield, back after an ankle injury, both went close but the visitors held on.

Teams:

Pidgeley; Ross (Senda 10), Craig, Elliott, Phillips, Shaw, Hackett, Mawene (McInnes 75), Williams (Byfield 60); Hubertz, Zebroski

Goodlad; Pilkington, Talbot, Sonner, Walker, Harsley (Husbands 62 (Miles 90)), Constantine, Smith (Cardle 70), Whitaker, Abbey, Sodje
