Millwall manager Neil Harris has said there’s ‘no truth’ to reports today linking him with a return for Bolton Wanderers centre half Mark Beevers.

Our former player made the move back north last summer, helping Bolton to automatic promotion to the Championship, and the Bolton News carried a report yesterday stating that Bolton had rejected an approach for us for the 27 year old.

Beevers obviously moved to the Den from Sheffield Wednesday back in the summer of 2012, and in his four years with us before moving to Bolton he made over 150 appearances.

In response to that report though, London News Online, this morning carried quotes from Harris rubbishing the suggestion given we’d just completed the capture of Jake Cooper from Reading.

‘It makes you laugh when you see people speculate and link you with players. Of course I mentioned in three or four different interviews that I was looking for a centre-half – Jakes was always the number one. I chased him all summer. It`s only natural you get linked with players who have done well for the club or a manager maybe knows them personally. It`s no surprise, but also no truth in that rumour.’

A respectful way to bring that piece of speculation to an end
