Young defender Sid Nelson has now seen a specialist and Millwall know the severity of his fractured metatarsal injury.

Physio Bobby Bacic has confirmed to the official site that the 18 year old will be out for the next two months, but in many ways it was good news because he doesn’t require surgery to correct the problem.

Having picked up the injury in the game against Billericay last Saturday, Bacic explained.

‘Sid saw a specialist today and will remain in a protective boot for the meantime. The better news for Sid is that the fracture is not a full metatarsal fracture, so there will be no operation required. Realistically we are pencilling in a return to action within two months. However, he will need to be reassessed and rescanned on a regular basis to monitor his progress and recovery.’
