Striker Steve Morison has undergone surgery and if all goes well, he’s expected to be back in four weeks.

Speaking to the official site Bobby Bacic explained that it was hoped that we could nurse him through until the international break, but the pain became so bad for Steve that the decision was made to have the surgery as quickly as possible so he was fit again as quick as possible.

‘Steve underwent surgery on his sportsman’s hernia yesterday and walked out of the hospital unaided. In fact he was awake during the double procedure as he wants to know how we were getting on at Sheffield! We are extremely grateful to the German specialist who agreed to operate in London early, rather than us got o Munich later in the month.’

Bacic adds that during the procedure the start of a small tear was discovered, and dealt with also.

‘If there are no complications then a return to play within four weeks is a possibility.’

Morison will remain with Millwall for his rehab also.
