Manager Steve Lomas has called for Millwall to show more of the same when we take on table topping Burnley this Saturday.

Following the disappointing results against Birmingham City and Bournemouth, Millwall have battled back credibly in recent games against QPR and Reading, coming from behind on both occasions and scoring in the dying moments of both games to draw level, and especially with the away performance against Reading, Steve Lomas has called on the team to show that level of commitment again this weekend so we can earn ourselves another positive result.

Speaking to the official site as the players returned to training and began their preparations for the Burnley game, Lomas said that confidence was high in the camp and he feels he has every reason to feel optimistic ahead of the game given how we are performing.

‘I’ve said to the lads when they play like that and go and pass the ball they are a decent footballing team. We want to back up our point at Reading this week. It’s a good point now but a great point if we then go into a very tough game against Burnley.’

Lomas said that one advantage for us is the fact we will be playing at home again, with the crowd behind us, and although he knows the match won’t be easy, we’ll be heading into it looking to get the three points and extend our current run of results at The Den which has seen us win two and draw one of our last three.

The Burnley game is also tagged as Kids for a Quid for Junior Lions members.
