With Stefan Maierhofer ruled out of the loss last night to Sheffield Wednesday with an injury of his own, winger Martyn Woolford is now also a doubt for the weekend and potentially longer.
Striker Maierhofer pulled up with a tight quad in training so was ruled out of contention for the midweek defeat, but it’s hoped that maybe he will be back in contention for the trip to Rotherham United this coming weekend.
However, in the game against Wednesday, Woolford had to be substituted after 50 minutes of the game having taken a blow to his ribs.
The player is now set for further investigations, scans and x-rays to determine the extent of the problem by post game, physio Bobby Bacic explained that he came off with ‘severely bruised’ and was in an incredible amount of pain.
The full diagnosis on him won’t be known until Thursday, as hopefully then the pain will have subsided and he can undergo further tests.
